This gorgeous pair was celebrating their fifth anniversary when Jeanette approached them about the shoot. From the talented photographer: The idea behind the shoot was to focus on the intimate connection of the couple in sort of an elopement style wedding. We chose The Bath Club on Miami Beach since the historic venue was the perfect backdrop as it doesn't need to be styled. The rich history and the architectural details made it interesting without competing with the romance we wanted to evoke. Aniela and Jordan are a beautiful couple and the chemistry between them is intoxicating.
I absolutely adored the words Aniela shared with us, so I'll just let her take it from here!
Like a fine wine my husband and I have only gotten better with age and we wanted to capture our newly discovered awesomeness by reshooting our wedding photos with Jeanette Polynice. Five years after the original ceremony, with my original dress (who says you will never get to wear it again?) and my husband in an upgraded fitted suit instead of the original generic tux rental, we recaptured our love on film.
We started dating when we were fifteen at South Broward High School, the peak of our nerdiness, went to FSU together where we got a little cooler but not by much. Graduated, came back home, Jordan asked me to marry him on Hollywood Beach with a diamond from his grandmother, and two years later we were married. On January 7th we will have been together fourteen years and married five. We couldn't think of any better way to celebrate our love than by getting to dress back up and showing how far we have come in those five years.
You spend a year planning, you get engagement photos, wedding photos and then it all stops. Why not get anniversary photos to track the years after? I can't wait to shoot again in five more years and compare. This may be my new tradition.
I think you (along with Jeanette's gorgeous photos) may have convinced me too, Aniela. Happy five years!!
