Miles, a pro baseball player, and Lauren, an elementary school teacher and health coach, wanted to have two different looks for their engagement session with Traci Burke Photography - casual and elegant. As a play on Lauren's "old hollywood side", and Miles' baseball career, they first put together a baseball-meets-glam engagement session at Roger Dean Stadium... and had a blast!
Miles and Lauren both grew up in Jupiter; Lauren actually lived two houses down from Miles' cousin. They attended high school together and shared a few friends, but it wasn't until New Year's Eve of their freshman year of college that sparks really flew. They shared a midnight kiss, and Miles finally asked her out - and to be his girlfriend - the next summer.
Seven years later, after a lot of time apart - from finishing at different colleges, and then Miles' professional career that currently has him playing for the Texas Rangers - Miles proposed in December, just after they closed on their first home together. In front of their fireplace that he covered with candles, with their song playing in the background, he asked and Lauren said "Yes!"
For the more casual part of their session, Lauren wanted an Anthropologie-inspired feel that reflected their everyday style, so Danielle from Flutter Fete put together a little picnic scene for them in the park. Gorgeous light helped bring it all together, and Lauren was over the moon about how it came out: "Our pictures and engagement session video brought me to tears! I cannot wait to see what our wedding day pictures and video look like!"
Traci and her team also put together an engagement video for the couple:
The two will be saying their I-dos in November, with a warm, romantic celebration - with a bit of Gatsby sparkle - at the Ironhorse Country Club. Congratulations, guys!
