This is one of those pinch-me-it's-so-gorg weddings! Remember Deividas and McCall's oceanside engagement? It happens to be one of our most pinned features from a most loved photographer, Captured Photography by Jenny, who was also able to snap up their beautiful waterfront wedding in downtown West Palm Beach.
From start to finish, McCall and Deividas kept the look and feel of their celebration very classic and modern, with fun hints of glam.
Guests were kept in-the-know with these adorable wedding weekend schedules, complete with shuttle pick up times. With loved ones from all over the world, little personal touches like this help make everyone feel welcome. As McCall says, "We both really wanted our wedding to be a reflection of us as a couple. We come from completely different places (Deividas is Lithuanian) and we had family coming from all over the world to be a part of our big day."
I know, right!? McCall is an incredibly stunning bride! She's wearing one of my favorite gowns of all time, Finley by Enzoani. There is so much texture and glam in this look and I love that she kept her hair and makeup simple.
The gorgeousness continues with all eight bridesmaids in floor length black or grey gowns. Such a classic look paired with lush white bouquets. And, can we talk about how adorable these little flower girls are in their leotards and tutus? Love!
Oh, you know these guys wouldn't be upstaged by the ladies! Deividas played basketball at Florida State University, so lots of his groomsmen were, let's say, above average height. Modern fit, classic black tuxes make all the guys look dapper, no matter how tall. Plus, the rings were in good hands, too!
We wanted to incorporate as many Lithuanian wedding traditions as we could into our ceremony and reception as well as some traditions from my family. During our ceremony, my grandfather (who is from Ireland) played an old Irish wedding song on his fiddle as I walked down the aisle. We also had some bible verses read in Lithuanian. We wanted both sides to feel how special they are to us, and wished to honor them on our day.
The Lake Pavilion, also a favorite venue of mine, is located in the heart of downtown West Palm Beach and faces the Intracoastal waterway. The location is a fabulous spot for wedding portraits with Palm Beach island as your backdrop.
My favorite memory was really just having all of our friends and family in the same place at once. I know this is special for any couple but the fact that Deividas' family lives about 5,500 miles away from mine made it so amazing to have them all under one roof. We had guests come in from 8 different countries, and to see them all together to celebrate with us was the most special feeling I have ever felt.
For our reception, we really tried to personalize every aspect that we could. We wanted every detail to signify us and our relationship. We served some of our favorite signature cocktails and Lithuanian beer and had signs posted around the reception in Lithuanian to teach our guests some words and phrases. We are both big foodies and instead of going for a traditional entree option, we decided to have someone come in and make a huge batch of paella outside during the cocktail hour.
We played Lithuanian music and incorporated some wedding games into the night (they turned out to be a favorite among our guests). Since Deividas' job has us living abroad for most of the year, we made our seating chart out of a huge map with each table representing a city that is meaningful to us. We also served both a traditional Lithuanian wedding cake and a cake we had made locally.
My advice for other couples getting married is just try to make the day your own. Don't feel like you have to do things a certain way. This is your day so make it special :) Also, be careful in selecting vendors and make sure they are trustworthy- great vendors make a huge difference! Splurge on some things (like a great photographer) and try to look for alternatives to save in other ways.
Such incredible advice! Thank you, Deividas and McCall for sharing your truly special day with us!
