We couldn't think of a better way to introduce you to our newest Central Florida Faves, Caroline and Evan, than with a cocktail post! These two love a good happy hour and recently snapped some treats at the annual Summer of Rum Festival in Ybor City. Enjoy!

Caroline shares her favorites from the day: There were a lot of local rum options. Both of our favorite from the tasting was the Siesta Key Spiced Rum; it tasted like Christmas. My favorite mixed drinks were the Naked On The Beach (Naked Turtle Rum's version of a Sex on the Beach) and the Cruzan Mojito. It's seriously our favorite mojito ever! It's so smooth you can't taste the alcohol at all.

Cruzan Mojito

1.5oz. Cruzan Light Rum
4 mint sprigs
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice from 2 lime wedges
1 sugar cube (you can substitute granulated sugar or .5oz simple syrup)
5oz. club soda
ice

Place mint, lime, and sugar cube into a 12oz. glass. Muddle the ingredients until the mint is broken up and the lime is juiced. This is important because it will really infuse the flavors into the cocktail. Add ice to fill the glass. Pour 1.5oz. of light rum and then add the 5oz. of club soda. Add a lime wedge and a mint sprig to garnish. Sip and enjoy!
