Okay, it's definitely been a bit since our road trip but we're finally getting around to sharing our discoveries with you!

Overall, we just have to say: taking the trip, exploring the regions of Florida, discovering amazing venues and meeting the area's top pros... it was the best decision we've made so far for Floridian Weddings. We felt it was necessary to know the state a little better (and in person) in order for us to properly present weddings, vendors and venues from the Keys to the Panhandle - and we hope you agree!

The drive up to St. Augustine was the shortest one of our trip, which left us a little time to explore rather than just hop right over to our venue for the evening. Having attended the University of Florida, I've been to St. Augustine many times, but it was really fun showing Rebecca the historic downtown area.

We first stopped into the Bath Junkie to take a peek around (and buy a few goodies) and were excited to find out they had an adorable party room upstairs, complete with comfy sofas and a karaoke machine... perfect for a spa party with your bridesmaids!

We also grabbed some delish gourment popsicles from The Hyppo (it was seriously hot outside!)... and I have to say that Rebecca's Pineapple Cilantro trumped my Lemon Lavender, but both were pretty darn yum. (And of course, Rebecca caught a photo opp.)

Later, it was off to our vendor get-together at The Reef! Angie and her team really rolled out the red carpet for us, and we had a blast nibbling on brie and sipping champagne while meeting and greeting some fabulous area vendors. And that view? Well, it was pretty amazing.

The Reef holds receptions in its pretty wood-beamed upstairs room, with to-die-for expansive views of the ocean from all along the east side. You can have your perfect beach ceremony, then bring everyone up for dinner and dancing with a view - it's the perfect size for smaller affairs up to 100 guests.

And, although it's on the east coast, the sunsets aren't too shabby either! Thanks to The Reef for being such great hosts, and for all the vendors that came out to meet us... we loved our time in North Florida! If you're getting married in the area, make sure to check out our North Florida vendor and venue guide for some fabulous options.

It is perfect timing that I’m seeing this post about Saint Augustine! My fiance’s parents live there and I’m flying down Thursday to start my wedding planning!
