The bit I love most about this intimate wedding is the bride embracing the rain and shining on her big day. Heather and Jon planned their celebration near the water and allowed the professionals to handle the changes that came due to weather. Their easy going demeanor allowed Concept Photography to capture some ridiculously gorgeous and moody images.
From Heather: Meeting Jon was completely unexpected. The same week I closed on a house, I'd committed to a fishing tournament with my brother. Needless to say, there was a little craziness occurring, but I wasn’t going to miss the weekend with my brother. Meeting someone was not on the list, but my older brother wanted to show me one of the other boats. We walked over with my niece and nephew in hand and there was Jon, pleasant as can be. He introduced himself, turned on Little Nemo for the kids and talked with my brother about the boat and tournament. He asked me out on a date shortly after and the rest is history!
Our engagement was at a weekend getaway to St. Augustine. Filled with happy tears, champagne, celebrating, and words I will never forget. His rugged handsomeness, kind smile, and his ability to love like no other are what I'm most attracted to.
“I fell in love with how pretty she was, her vibrancy and her love for life.”
Considering the weather, Sara and Jason, their photographers, had to improvise. They were able to come up with creative ways to get gorgeous photos in the rain. Several adorable props were used including Heather's monogrammed rain boots and umbrella. The best part is her splashing, smiling and having a great time, despite the downpour!
The intimate ceremony in the great room was complete with perfect lighting, mahogany chairs filled with our friends and family, and our huge beautiful mirror from our own home that reflected the amazing scene. The ceremony was originally going to be outside, however our contingency plan turned into our most memorable part of the day.
Like most summer storms in Florida do, the clouds dissipated and the sun began to shine just in time for a striking sunset on the Gulf. An ivory tented reception on the estate's lawn was the perfect location for guests to dance to live music, eat cupcakes, and soak in all the love (totally intentional pun). Seriously though, how stunning is this view!?
Towards the end of the romantic evening, guests were given sachets of lavender to toss as the bride and groom made their big departure. Underneath the string lights and moonlight, Jon stole a kiss and ran off with his love. A perfect ending, I'd say!
A huge congrats to you two and cheers to lots more sunshine through the rain!
