We can't think of a more lovely (or Floridian) way of introducing one of our newest Faves than with these sweet toes-in-the-sand wedding portraits from the equally lovely and talented Alee Gleiberman. Aaron and Raphaela had a simple wedding ceremony with their closest friends and family, then escaped to the beach for some romantic portraits by the waves (and in the rain)!
The two met on Facebook, through an LDS singles group. Raphaela saw Aaron's profile in the group, and randomly friended him because, "he was really cute." He added her back - for the same reason, no surprise there! - and they began chatting. She was living in New York at the time, and he in DC; they quickly made plans for her to visit, and the rest is history.
I adore how Raphaela prefaced the story she shared with us: "It's my pleasure to tell you how I met the man who makes me so happy and loved every single day."
The two love travelling, getting to know new cultures and visiting new places. They also love nature, and some of their best memories from their time spent dating come from the beaches of South Florida. Because of this, they decided to get married in Fort Lauderdale and have a portrait session on the beach.
From Raphaela: Our wedding was very casual, it was a beautiful and meaningful ceremony in the Temple for close friends and immediate family. It was really special for us, we wanted something simple, with all our loved ones. I remember how nervous I was a few days before our wedding, but by the moment we walked in the Temple, I knew it was him, I knew he is the one I want to be with forever, and I was ready and completely sure about the beautiful commandment we were about to make with each other, to love and serve, to be faithful, grow and learn together.
“Alee definitely did an awesome job, not just with the photos but with the whole process. She is a great photographer, and made us feel so comfortable, confident and happy during our whole photo shoot.”
One week after the wedding, the couple jetted off to Raphaela's home country of Brazil to start their lives together. Says the bride, "We are traveling the country and my husband is getting to know my culture, family and friends and he is even learning Portuguese. It has been a great experience."
What a dream! Congratulations, you two - we wish you all the best in love, life and adventure.
