When John Michael Weddings & Special Events suggested a post about a Florida-inspired winter wedding, I was eager to hear more. Once they mentioned using seasonal, local ingredients to build a menu and a violet and shimmery silver color palette, I was sold! So, together, we composed this tabletop inspiration complete with a delicious menu from start to finish. This makes for a beautiful wedding all wrapped up with a festive bow!
This post is sponsored by John Michael Weddings & Special Events, a member of our Central, Florida vendor guide
Charlene, director of sales, met with her head chef and put together a menu full of mushrooms, pears, cauliflower, and tomatoes. All grown in Central Florida! She informed me that John Michael Weddings purchases the majority of their produce from a vendor who harvests fruits and vegetables from Florida's local farms. According to Charlene, "Farmer's markets are good for specialty items in smaller quantities, but, for our large orders, straight from the farm works best! Fun fact is that Florida grows the most amount of tomatoes in any given time of the year!"
I thought a delightful way to start this festive menu would be with our very own Grape Sparkler! The color and fizzyness of it is perfect for this palette, plus it's absolutely delicious! Next, we'd enjoy some savory Boursin Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Caps and Roasted Tomato Bruschetta with Fresh Shaved Parmesan. Nothing too heavy since dinner looks spectacular...
For dessert, Charlene's favorite idea is Milk Shooters and Fresh-Baked Cookies still warm from the oven. Mmm! These can be set up as a station with spins on the classic whole milk and chocolate-chip variety, such as, strawberry milk with shortbread cookies or chocolate milk with mint-chip cookies. Done and done!
Gaining rapid popularity in the wedding world is the ever unexpected fourth meal. Charlene suggests creating a Build-Your-Own Burger Bar including tons of locally grown items like fresh tomatoes or homemade ketchup, grilled onions, and pickles! Guests can have fun with topping off the mini-sliders and you could provide take-out boxes or doggy bags for them to enjoy later. Is anyone else drooling?
Don't you love how the violet color can be incorporated throughout the wedding? Don't let your imagination stop with linens and flowers! Whatever your favorite or signature color, try to incorporate it with cocktails, menu items, and certainly dessert! Thanks to the lovely team at John Michael Weddings & Special Events for such a fabulous idea! Cheers!
