These two fell in love and were engaged in the Keys, and it's the place they "love to visit, relax, and let our hair down" - making it the perfect choice for their wedding day. Add their wanderlust to the mix and the result is this "vintage travel meets beach chic" theme executed so perfectly by our Fave, Simply Couture Weddings & Events, and shared with us today by Captured Photography by Jenny.
From the start, this couple knew they wanted a destination where family and friends from all over could spend the weekend having fun, reuniting, and celebrating their wedding. Says the bride, "Spending a weekend with our favorite people in the World was priceless, as we had guests attend from California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Tennessee, New York, North Carolina, and even Beirut, Lebanon."
Shauntrelle and Chris met six years ago through mutual friends, and had instant chemistry; although Shauntrelle had to move to Las Vegas just two months later to advance her hotel sales career, they kept things going long distance for nine months until Chris joined her there. She tells us that she knew he was in love when he left his boat in Florida to be with her in the desert!
They traveled the country together - St. Augustine, New York City, Key West and the western U.S. coast - and fell deeper in love with each other before moving back to Florida in 2011. Within a year, Chris proposed aboard a romantic sunset sail in Key West.
Shauntrelle tells us they are best friends, appreciate each other for who they really are, and just enjoy being together in all things.
“We are a great match because we are a team... we support, respect, appreciate, and love each other more than anything and have an absolute blast traveling through life together.”
As the time for the ceremony approached, clouds were looming and they thought they'd have to move the ceremony indoors; luckily, Reverend Eddie came to the rescue with a last minute "rain prayer" and the weather held out for their beautiful gazebo ceremony overlooking the water. Says Shauntrelle, "The entire wedding day and evening was magical but the ceremony is what stands out the most when we look back. Our officiant captured our love and commitment in the most beautiful and poetic way."
The two had their first dance to I Thought I Loved You Then by Brad Paisley, played with special vows to each other dubbed in over the lyrics; it was a special moment that brought quite a few happy tears to their family and friends.
Guests also had a blast in the Sideshow Booth - how perfect is that ribbon backdrop for the wedding's vintagey ivory, mint and gold theme? Congratulations, you two!
