St. Augustine is one of those spots that has so much potential for a naturally beautiful wedding: cobblestone streets, lush landscapes, and loads of historic venues like The Sanchez House. Margo and Matt chose Kelly of Pure Sugar Studios to capture the thoughtful vintage details of their special day, which turned out lovely.
Margo and Mathew knew they were meant-to-be from the moment they met. Our groom is a true romantic and his bride tells us that he was this way from day one: "We were in love from the start. He left a planted sunflower on my porch the morning after we first met and when I finally was able to thank him for the gift, we became 'us'. Every Wednesday for the past five and a half years he has given me a flower." That said, Margo's attention to detail with the flowers is not a surprise. The flowers that the ladies carried on the wedding day were adorned with broaches from Margo's grandmother, and the bride's bouquet had the same one her mother wore when she married Margo's father.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Fountain of Youth Museum on the lawn overlooking St. Augustine's intracoastal. Through laughter and tears, a family member lead the wedding vows while guests soaked in the breathtaking view. Margo and Mathew carried out their vintage feel, even with their favors! "After the ceremony we passed out vintage wine glasses filled with Fountain of Youth water and everyone toasted to our happiness. The glasses were keepsakes for our guests."
We only spent five months planning the wedding. Mathew and I made many of the wedding decisions, but my father, Brian, by-far made the event magical. He planned even the smallest of details to give us a beautiful, vintage wedding. After we found The Sanchez House it all fell into place. We decorated it with framed pictures from all of our family's weddings. Candles and flowers were scattered everywhere in old mason jars and white lights were hung over the courtyard. Our invitations were vintage Florida postcards from my grandparents' collection. We had them scanned and printed with our information on the other side. Having my fathers help was wonderful and he orchestrated it all beautifully! All we had to do was show up and say "I do". Our wedding was the happiest of moments that celebrated the love that we had felt from the very first day.
What an awesome Father of the Bride, right? I love the creative idea of using the vintage postcards to create your wedding invitations. Congratulations to Margo and Matt and we wish you so much love in your future! Special thanks to Kelly for sharing these lovely images with us.
