I couldn't think of a better way to start off your Monday than a lovely St. Pete Beach wedding... with a beautiful couple and one stunner of a Vera Wang gown! Anna Kirby Photography was there to capture this classic and elegant affair at the Don CeSar Hotel, and I can't introduce it any better than the bride: "My wedding day could not have been more perfect. We had amazing weather, we were not stressed, and everything was just as I imagined."
The couple met during a young professional event at a Tampa Bay Rays game, after Kristen, there with her best friend, spotted Casey from across the hall. I mentioned wanting to go talk to him, but she insisted on getting a hot dog first! We made our way over after her hot dog and started talking with Casey and became fast friends! We started volunteering on the McCain campaign, Habitat for Humanity, and other community projects. We dated for 18 months in Tampa before Casey was relocated to Chicago for work. We made it through two years of long distance before getting married... thank goodness for skype! Both of us have a passion for travel and adventure. We've explored many cities and countries in the past few years. Just the start of many joyous memories to come!
Says Kristen: "It was mid February in Florida and the forecast leading up to the wedding was pretty gloomy. I was a bit nervous because the ceremony was set for the outside courtyard on the beach. To our surprise, it cleared up just in time for the big day. We had clear blue skies and warm sunshine with a nice ocean breeze."
We also asked Kristen to share some of her planning experiences:
The wedding planning process was consuming and wonderful. My mom and I got to spend a lot of time together. We traveled to Savannah to find my dress, to various coastal locations looking for a destination wedding venue, and ended up choosing a location close to home. We had so much fun picking out all the details. I wanted an elegant affair with a pop of sparkle! The flowers really set the tone for the decor. At the ceremony, we had bouquets of white roses and peonies and large silver urns at the alter filled with white lillies. We had silver candelabras flowing with flowers and accented with hanging crystals at the reception. The room had a romantic glow. It was just as I had hoped! The best part of the process was spending quality time with the people I love most.
Congratulations, Kristin and Casey! And big thanks to Anna Kirby for sharing her work with us.
