Remember Marianne's inspiration? (See the original post for sources and the details).
Now take a look at the fun and cheerful tabletop she created:
Marianne: "As Laura and Rebecca have mentioned it is difficult to embrace the winter look here in South Florida because it rarely gets below 70 degrees! While the rest of the country is bundled up experiencing their first (or fifth) snowfall we are down here basking in the sun and relishing these not so scorching days. For this challenge I wanted to showcase a fusion of neon and prep with sprinkles of rustic charm. I love the more traditional winter look as much as the next gal, but I wanted to mix things up and create something really fun, colorful, and unexpected.
"My jumping off point was this great scarf turned table runner. From there I piled on the accessories. I purchased antlers from a shop on Etsy - exactly what I needed to add that bit of rustic charm. I used candleholders, ornaments, glassware, and plates I had on hand and made the napkins out scrap fabric."
"I added some sparkle by making confetti out of scrapbook paper. I sprinkled the confetti around the place settings to fill in all the white space... this really made the look festive and added some glam to the whole setting.
"I also made my own place cards. I was inspired by the paintings Jen Ramos creates for Cocoa and Hearts. I thought this was a perfect way to integrate a favor into the table setting without cluttering the table with added candles, picture frames, etc. To see the full tutorial hop on over to my blog.
"I hope I have inspired brides, couples, party throwers all over with my neon meets prep look. I think my best advice for coming up with any table setting is to work with what you have. Re-imagine things in ways that are different from their normal use and don't be afraid to mix and match things! It adds so much interest and makes for a great conversation topic!"
Adorable! I think the neon/plaid combo is so unexpected and such a fun way to make a bold statement. For a wedding, a color/pattern scheme like this would really showcase your personality as a couple.
We'll be back again tomorrow with our final two winter tabletop designs, so make sure to come back and check it out. And make sure to peek at Marianne's blog for more details and a DIY tutorial on those lovely place card favors!
