Merry Christmas Eve, y'all! Another year over, and time again to relive and reminisce over our favorite features of the past 12 months. It's been a ridiculously amazing year, with a better batch of weddings, engagements, inspiration shoots and social features that we could ever have dreamed of. It was SO HARD to pick the ones we loved most, but Desi and I are giving it our best shot! Today, we're looking at our newest bunch: Social and Lifestyle editorials.
Our summer vacation-inspired bon voyage brunch brought together several things I love most about Floridian Weddings: vendor-friends plus their talent and inventory, Laura's ridiculous skills in the kitchen and fab conversation. Being surrounded by some of our contributors meant talking industry chit-chat, as well as hearing about their plans for travel and past adventures. Such a good day that was beautifully captured by Daniel Lateulade.
Sometimes, it's a really hard life being a blogger and our mini-shoot at The Blind Monk was just one of those days. While Kat Braman balanced on barstools to get the shot, Laura and I styled (and ate) our way through the anatomy of a cheese plate. It was tough work, but someone had to do it.
I totally believe in dressing up for vacations and a honeymoon is no exception! Our contributor, Lauren Soley, partnered with Hello Miss Lovely and several local boutiques to bring us this stylish honeymoon fashion shoot. It left me aching to run off to some exclusive resort with my hubbs and relive our post-wedding trip all over again. There's nothing like being in a hot suit with a big hat and cold drink, am I right?
Know what makes our hearts flutter? Seeing our Faves gather and work together, knowing that if our little blog didn't exsist these folks might not even know one another. A perfect example of such a moment was created by Desi and Chelsey at their spring dinner party full of desserts, red wine, cheese and cheer!
It's easy to get smitten with a good love story around here and Veronica and Andrea's is a must read. Their passion for life, food and each other is abundantly evident in these pictures from Carolina. Fair warning, you'll be starving and feeling adventurous in the kitchen after viewing this at home cooking session!
We kicked off our Out & About series late in 2013, and it's one of my overall favorites - I love getting a glimpse of the best local finds through a pro photographer's eye! Our day at Beer Trade Co. with Todd Good Photography was an absolute blast, and Todd captured this chill spot in Delray Beach so perfectly.
Another day, another beer, and another beloved local spot - this time, with Hannah Mayo at craft beer maker Due South Brewery in Boynton Beach. Hannah captured some pretty amazing behind-the-scenes views of the brewery, including one of our very own Desi at the tap.
The Most Useful award has to go to the peek inside Olivia Smalley's hair & makeup artist bag, captured by Erika Delgado. I know I'm not the only one who immediately ran looking for all of the essentials she shared! (And that 'Better Than Sex' mascara totally lives up to it.)
This year also saw the beginnings of another new column: You Should Go. If I could take on a mission, it would definitely be to encourage more people to travel; this series, highlighting adventures that are an easier-than-you-think trip from Florida, is one little step in that direction. Won't you join us for hops to Paris, Costa Rica and Anguilla?
I'm still living right up in the Feelin' It for Fall feature: Tiki Tropical in Shades of Green. I was so inspired by the emerald hues, gold highlights and retro-tropical details... and that dress just needs to be mine.
